David S. Steinberg
David Steinberg currently serves as
counsel to Herten Burstein which he joined in 2005. With more than
25 years of legal experience, his concentration in the firm is on
commercial real estate and land use matters. He has represented
national corporations, real estate developers and private
individuals on the full spectrum of matters relating to contracts,
environmental issues, loan documents, and governmental approvals.
While at Prime Motor Inns, Inc., based
in Fairfield, New Jersey, Dave participated in the successful
Chapter 11 reorganization of one of the largest bankruptcy cases at
the time. The successful reorganization of this real estate entity
involved the resolution of over 5 billion dollars of filed claims,
the decision to reject or assume numerous leases, the restructuring
of dozens of transactions involving owners, managers and lenders and
the consummation of a reorganization plan involving the mergers of
over 90 subsidiary entities.
Since that time, Dave has represented
corporations—both public and private—and real estate developers. He
has successfully negotiated multi-million dollar contracts for large
corporations. On the real estate side, he has represented developers
in all aspects of real estate development including large
multi-property financings with major lenders. Leveraging his
experience from representing local boards, he has successfully
shepherded numerous development applications through the
governmental approval process.
This diversity of
experience—particularly his experience in representing corporate
clients—gives Dave a unique insight into best representing the
interests of corporate clients. He is results-oriented, but always
cognizant of the corporate bottom line.
David Steinberg is a graduate of
Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he received the
Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his J.D. from St. John’s
University School of Law in New York City in 1981.
He is licensed to practice law in New
Jersey and New York and is a member of the New Jersey and New York
State Bar Associations. Consistent with the firm’s commitment to the
community, Dave is also active in the Bergen County Bar Association.
