William H. Schmidt, JR.
William H. Schmidt, Jr. provides
expertise to Herten Burstein in the areas of corporate transactions,
banking matters, and commercial real estate matters. Mr. Schmidt has
extensive experience representing both lenders and borrowers in
assets based and real estate lending transactions. In addition, Mr.
Schmidt has represented clients with respect to sales of businesses,
and the preparation and negotiation of licensing agreements;
operating agreements, partnership agreements and a broad range of
other commercial agreements, including commercial leases.
Mr. Schmidt graduated cum laude from
Montclair State University, where he earned a B.A. degree. He
received his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in
1987. He served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Peter J. Cass, J.S.C.
from 1987–1988. Prior to graduating from Seton Hall Law School, Mr.
Schmidt was employed by Sea-Land Corporation in various management
positions.
Over the years, Mr. Schmidt has been
continuously active in not-for-profit service. He served as
President of the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation located in
Gaithersburg, Maryland and is currently serving as Vice President of
Essex Valley School, Inc. located in West Caldwell, New Jersey.
His present professional affiliations
include the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association
and the Bergen County Bar Association.
Mr. Schmidt is admitted to practice
before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of
Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Courts for
the District of New Jersey, as well as the New Jersey State and the
District of Columbia Courts.
